Fishburne Military School’s Summer Adventure Camp finished today. Our rising 6th grader, Jack Jack, just finished 4 weeks at FMS for their summer adventure camp and to say he had an awesome time and that he LOVED it would be an understatement..
21 Things Jack did while at camp:
1. Did Science experiments
2. Got creative with Tie dye
3. Learned “Zombie” wound makeup at the Wayne Theatre
4. Shot a real cannon
5. Repelled down a wall
6. Went hiking, swimming, fishing with his friends
7. Did a military obstacle course and had a overnight campout at Virginia Military Institute
8. Shot airsoft guns and was a “combat medic”
9. Played football, soccer, basketball, and ultimate frisbee
10. Went horseback riding
11. Learned the game of chess
12. Perfected his push ups
13. Almost broke his wrist going down a slip n slide
14. Learned archery
15. Went tubing down the James River
16. Learned new 3D Modeling techniques
17. Won 1st place with his platoon in the JROTC games
18. Went on his first mountain biking course
19. Learned some groovy local civil war history
20. Ate some REALLY GOOD food in the mess hall 3 times a day
21. Awarded: Best Art Award, Best Cadet in Platoon 1, & Best Effort for his time at camp
As a local day student, Jack was able to participate from sun up to sun down, come home each night to sleep and be back on campus each morning. They had activities Monday-Saturday each week and he never wanted to miss a thing.
If you have a little dude at home that has the desire (or if you have the desire) to be at a place where they not only can be ALL BOY, but where it’s rewarded and encouraged— I highly recommend getting your son signed up for next year’s summer adventure camp at FMS.
We are very much looking forward to Jack starting at FMS in the coming weeks as the first class of 6th graders at Fishburne Middle School.
